Marquisats beach
Description
As soon as summer arrives, the Marquisats grass beach is a spot highly-prized by the townspeople and holidaymakers alike.
From the start of the school holidays until 31 August (11am-7pm), lifeguards will be on hand to supervise you. Showers and toilets. Snacks on site. Sailing, canoeing and rowing clubs are just a stone's throw away. Easily accessible by bus and directly from the cycle path.
Thanks to a range of facilities, this beach enables people with disabilities to get from the car park to the lake completely independently. The facilities take account of all forms of disability:
- safe pathways
- audible markers and an ‘audioplage’ totem pole to help the visually impaired find their way around
- accessible changing rooms
- amphibious chairs (Hippocampe and Tiralo) and patient lifts available
- interactive wristband for assistance and access to the beach
The accessible beach is open from 5 July to 31 August 2025 at the following times: Mondays and Tuesdays, from 1pm to 3.30pm and Wednesdays to Sundays, from 1pm to 7pm.
4 seasonal staff (inclusion ambassadors) have been recruited and trained to welcome users and ensure the smooth running of the inclusive beach. They can provide carers with a lift and issue interactive bracelets enabling visually impaired people to activate audio terminals. As the ambassadors have other duties, they are not permanently present on site.
