Description

The Musée Patrimonial de Thônes presents the entire history of the Pays de Thônes: geology, prehistory, local industry and crafts, paintings and religious art, wild fauna and flora, and the costumes of the Thônes fire brigade, which led to the creation of the museum in 1937 by François Cochat.
It's a large museum with 3 levels, housed in a historic building in the heart of Thônes; it's for everyone, and children will love its fun and interactive aspect.
The museum is open all year round, and is free for children under 12. In summer, 1 admission to the museum entitles the holder to a visit to the Manoir de la Tour, the home of JJ Rousseau.
We welcome individuals and groups, adults and children, by prior arrangement.
Foreign visitors will find information in English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Ukrainian.
