Description

A steady climb through the calm and cool forest, before reaching the mountain pastures to the sound of Abondance cows' bells. The atmosphere changes as the trail winds its way through a surprising mineral landscape of lapiaz, all the way to the refuge.

Alternative route for the return journey: from the refuge, head back towards Mont Pelé and turn right towards the Col de l'Oulettaz, then on to the Tête des Annes. Take the ridge path down to the Col de Borneronde, then the path through the woods leading to Plattuy and Les Troncs
